Some Arborescent Motifs in Architectural Reliefs: Augustinian Convent Heritage in Colonial America

The present study focuses on specific ornamental pictorial evidence, which has remained hidden for centuries, in a 17th-century convent complex, Salamanca, Mexico. Thus, this research aims at describing contextual periods of the estate it is housed and estimates influence grotesque style its meaning during period Viceroyalty New Spain. For purpose, we recognise ornaments formal compositional analysis uncover references to some plant species inspired cultural iconographic traits region that historical frame.
